Me, You and Those Other Folks was a group exhibition where Nekisha Durrett Investigated the third person with her fantastic, large-scale, computer-generated portraits of the "other."  These portraits -- digitally drawn and then printed on die-cut acrylic -- are drawn from Durrett's interest in the ubiquity of popular media. Suggestive of contemporary advertising in their logo slickness as well as comic art in their graphic quality, Durrett's portraits ask how identity is is presented in the popular realm. What are the shorthand notations we as viewers accept as markers of identity? How do we read otherness or sameness in the posing and outfitting of models of all stripes?
