Colossus is a room filling installation -- two 9 x 25' walls wallpapered with Durrett's computer based drawings.  The installation features a handmade, 15' long, accordion folded and linen bound artist book also fabricated and drawn by the Nekisha Durrett.

The installation was inspired by a poem of the same name by historian and poet David C. Ward. The poem, the book and the installation visualize a land deforested by Colossus, a metaphoric representation of industry and civilization.
